Globally Inspired Mexican Cuisine Created to Warm the Soul

Inspired by the views from one of the area’s most desirable and secluded playas, chef Enrique Olvera conceived Manta with an intriguing double meaning: The manta ray symbolizes the kitchen’s focus on seafood, while manta, the Spanish word for blanket, conveys the chef’s emphasis on comfort.

Olvera celebrates Pacific coasts traditions—taking inspiration from his native Mexico, as well as Peru, Japan and beyond—while maintaining a distinct and tastefully casual Baja sensibility with a commitment to sourcing local ingredients from Baja Califonia Sur.

Open daily from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm, a curated beverage menu focused on mezcales, tequilas and sakes complements Manta’s fresh local ingredients.

THE SETTING

Designed by Marisabel Gomez Vazquez of Arquitectura de Interiores, the intimate, richly textured space features a dramatic exhibition kitchen overlooking El Arco, Bahía San Lucas and the Monuments Beach point break.

The Manta experience is an artful collaboration in every detail, including custom plate ware hand-selected by Olvera and Vasquez from Guadalajara ceramics maker, Jose Noe Suro.

THE Cuisine

Chef Olvera envisioned Manta as The Cape’s culinary centerpiece and has entrusted Chef de Cuisine, Abisai Sanchez to bring his globally infused passion and creativity to the kitchen each day.

THE Hotel

The Cape offers a reflection of Cabo like no other, with the clean contemporary lines of visionary Mexico City architect Javier Sanchez revealing stunning ocean views from every room’s private balcony, fresh and salt water pools and a premier open-air spa.

Manta guests will also enjoy The Cape’s open-air lobby lounge—an ideal rendezvous for drinks before and after dinner—a classic cocktail in the Glass Box bar and views to downtown Cabo San Lucas and El Arco from The Rooftop skygarden terrace.
